Tyler Civic Theatre Center is pleased to announce its 17th annual New Play Festival!
This event allows budding playwrights the opportunity to submit their unpublished works to an evaluation committee made up of local actors, directors, and playwrights for feedback and the opportunity to be showcased in a public Reader’s Theatre event to be held in the Rogers Theatre on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
Additionally, plays presented as part of our Reader’s Theatre event will be considered for our Ninth Annual “People’s Choice Award.” The People’s Choice Award winner will have their play produced by Tyler Civic Theatre Center as part of the next year's 78th Season.
Interested playwrights may submit their unpublished works beginning at midnight on May 17, 2025 and ending just before midnight at 11:59 p.m. on June 17, 2025. Plays received after the deadline will not be considered for this year’s festival.
Submissions may be emailed to newplays@tylercivictheatre.com as a PDF attachment, or they may be mailed or delivered to 400 Rose Park Drive, Tyler, TX 75702, on or before the deadline.
